Emily's practice focuses on insurance recovery for policyholders and other claimants.  Emily serves an array of businesses and individuals, including:

  • defendant policyholders seeking coverage under liability policies in a wide range of contexts, such as construction defect, liquor liability, environmental contamination, employment, and professional errors and omissions;
  • plaintiffs seeking redress against insured entities, including advising plaintiffs with respect to maximizing collection from liability carriers;
  • real estate and business property owners seeking coverage under first-party policies; 
  • individuals seeking health and disability coverage under individual and group policies; and
  • entities seeking recovery under employee fidelity policies.

Emily provides both strategic counsel aimed at maximizing insurance recoveries and representation in coverage litigation in the state and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate court levels.

Emily has been named to the Oregon Rising Stars list since 2013.

Assisted large auto manufacturer in prosecuting construction defect litigation and maximizing collection from liability carriers for defendant general contractor, subcontractor, architect, and inspector.

Represented industrial products distributor with respect to obtaining insurer funding to remediate legacy environmental claims by DEQ and EPA.

Successfully secured insurer funding under liquor liability coverage to resolve dram shop litigation against restaurant and bar.
